Ft. Worth 6, Grand Prairie 0

Ft. Worth combined potent offense and excellent pitching to cruise past Grand Prairie by a final of 6-0. 1B John Allen had another big game for the Cats as he finished 3-for-5 on the night. He scored three times, drove in a run and was a homerun shy of hitting for the cycle. As Allen kept reaching base, Ft. Worth LF Kevin Thompson kept driving him in. Thompson went 3-for-4 with two doubles and tallied four RBI in the contest. On the mound, Dwayne Pollok mowed down the Airhogs lineup for seven innings as he allowed just two his and two walks while striking out five. He moved to 9-5 on the season with the win.

Lincoln 15, St. Paul 1

The Lincoln Saltdogs scored early and often as they routed the St. Paul Saints by a 15-1 final. Six Lincoln batters had multi-hit games. 3B Brandon Jones had a huge game with four RBI and two runs scored in a 2-for-4 night at the plate. DH Argelis Nunez drove in three runs and scored twice as part of a 2-for-3 performance. Lincoln starter Angel Castro kept the Saints bats quiet for 5.2 innings as he struck out six and allowed just four hits to earn the victory.

Sioux City 7, Shreveport - Bossier 0

Sioux City lefty David Welch struck out 10 men and allowed just five hits in a complete game shutout of the Shreveport-Bossier Captains. Leading 1-0 halfway through the contest, the Explorers scored three times in the bottom of the fifth inning and added two more runs in the sixth on their way to the 7-0 final. The number one through four hitters in the Sioux City order had their way, finishing with nine of the team's twelve hits, six RBI, and six runs scored. 1B and clean up hitter Jacob Cruz turned in an outstanding performance with a 3-for-5 night including a homerun. Welch improved to 7-5 with the win. Cardoza Tucker fell to 3-4 with the loss.

Pensacola 10, El Paso 5

Pensacola scored in each of the first five innings and doubled up El Paso by the score of 10-5. CF Francisco Leandro and 1B Javier Brito each had three hits and two RBI for the Pelicans. Brito got the scoring started with a two-run homer in the first inning, his 17th blast of the season. Pensacola 3B Adolfo Gonzalez drove in two as well, finishing 2-for-4 on the night. Brian Rembisz pitched seven innings to earn the win and improved his mark to 4-3.

Sioux Falls @ Wichita

The scheduled game between Sioux Falls and Pensacola was postponed due to rain. It will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Sunday August 15th.
