Hodach joins Owlz, Villaescusa departs
August 7, 2006 - Pioneer League (PL)
Northern Colorado Owlz News Release
The Owlz have sent switch-hitting catcher Ivan Villaescusa down to the Arizona League.
In his absence, joining the club is catcher/outfielder Jonathan Hodach. Hodach was signed in late July as a free agent. After being signed, he played just one game in Arizona, going 2 for 3, before being called up.
He played all four years of his college career at the University of North Florida with Owlz reliever Jared Incinelli. Hodach led UNF his senior year with a .364 batting average and 16 doubles.
Infielder Doug Reinhardt was sent to Los Angeles so team doctors could check out his injured left knee. Doug had season-ending surgery last year on the left knee, and he is not expected to return to the field until next season.
Also, please note that first baseman Gordie Gronkowski and outfielder Julio Perez are still on the disabled list. A timetable for their return is uncertain at this time.
