Hits Galore as Intimidators Make it Three Straight

After starting the season with six straight losses, the Intimidators are half way to even as they won their third straight game on Friday night against the Hickory Crawdads by the score of 8-4. The Intimidators put up 12 hits on the night and a season-high eight runs.

Cameron Bayne started for the Intimidators and went six full innings allowing just three hits and three runs. Bayne (1-1) picks up the win and was followed in relief by both Brandon Kloess who went two and allowed one run and Drew O'Neil who got the final three outs.

Starter Matt Thompson lasted four innings and allowed three runs on six hits. The Intimidators got two in the second as Jorge Castillo, who added another three hits on the night, doubled, Kyle Colligan singled and Kyle Davis hit a sacrifice fly. However the Crawdads (4-5) fired right back with two of their own in the bottom of the inning.

The Intimidators (3-6) added another in the third that was also countered by the Crawdads. The Intimidators took the lead for good though in the sixth as Colligan led off with a double, one of three hits, he also ended with two runs scored and three RBI. Kyle Davis hit a two-out double to bring him home to make it 4-3.

In the next inning, Nick Ciolli reached on a one-out error before Ian Gac walked and Jorge Castillo singled to load the bases. Colligan then doubled in two runs and another scored on a wild pitch making it 7-3.

Each team added solo home runs, including a monster blast by Daniel Wagner in the eighth.

The Intimidators will look to make it four in a row on Saturday at 7pm as lefty Matt Wickswat (0-1) will take on Neil Ramirez (0-1).
