FOREST CITY, N.C. - The HiToms surrendered a three-run lead on Thursday night at McNair Field allowing Forest City to force extra innings before the HiToms won the game 7-3 with four runs in the 11th.

The HiToms (11-6) hammered two home runs against Adam Izokovic in the 11th as Alex Williams began the inning with a home run and after a Cole Sturgeon single scored James Harris for the second run of the inning the HiToms had a two-run lead. However, they were not done as Brock Hebert got in on the mix as he sent a towering shot over the wall in left for a two-run home run and a 7-3 lead for the Tommies.

Travis Tingle (W, 5-0) pitched 3 1/3 innings for the Tommies and after blowing the save in the ninth really ate up innings.

Trailing by a run in the ninth inning, Forest City (9-7) tied the game up as Michael Basil tripled past a diving Tanner Mathis and scored one hitter later when Buddy Sosnoskie singled to right in front of James Harris to tie the score and send it to extra innings.

The HiToms scored in the first inning off Ryan Hander as Brock Hebert led off the game with a walk and after he stole second, the Tommies second basemen came home to score on a Jacob Rogers double to make it 1-0.

That lead for the Tommies grew to a pair of runs in the third when Sturgeon tripled off the wall in right center and later scored on a sacrifice fly from Stephen Carmon to make it 2-0 HiToms after three.

The score moved to 3-0 in favor of the visitors in the sixth when Zack Briggs drove home Mathis with a sacrifice fly to center field.

The Owls were able to get back in the game in the sixth inning as they chased starter Brian Holmes from the game and Matt Dillon came on to pitch for the Tommies. With two outs and a runner at first, Dillon served up a two-run home run to Danny Canela which made it a 3-2 lead after six before the Owls rallied.

The Tommies return to Finch Field will be Friday night at 7:00 when they welcome the Martinsville Mustangs to town; it will be Scout Night and any troop or pack can campout on the field following the game.
