THOMASVILLE, N.C. - Thomasville scored six runs in the second inning of Friday night's game to reverse a two-run deficit into a four run lead and they never looked back as they cruised past Peninsula 12-7 on Friday night at Finch Field.

Peninsula (0-1) scored four runs off one swing in the first inning as Tristian Moore launched a grand slam over the right field wall to give the Pilots a 4-0 lead after one.

Thomasville (1-0) began to chip away at the lead and trailing 4-2 entering the third innings, they managed to chase Coby Cowgill (L, 1-3) from the game by scoring six runs in the frame. The biggest damage came when the HiToms strung together four consecutive base hits while Stephen Carmon, who homered earlier in the contest, contributed a sacrifice fly for his second of three RBI of the night. Once the third inning dust cleared, Thomasville owned an 8-4 lead.

The Tommies salted the game away in the sixth after Austin Moyer (W, 1-4) completed his second scoreless inning of work, as the HiToms scored four runs with Zack Briggs driving home a pair with a double down the line in left to send the HiToms to a lead they wouldn't give up.

Matt Dillon and Travis Tingle pitched the final two innings and while they both allowed solo home runs, the duo combined to record the last six outs via strikeout to send the Tommies to a 12-7 win as they begin the second half of the CPL season.

Thomasville is back at home tomorrow night at 7:00 when they entertain the Outer Banks Daredevis.
