
Hitmen Use Shootout to Put Down Tigers

Medicine Hat, AB - Riley Stotts scored in round three of the shootout to propel the Calgary Hitmen to a 5-4 victory over the Medicine Hat Tigers on Monday night at Co-op Place.
Riley Fiddler-Schultz led the Hitmen scoring parade with three assists while Sean Tschigerl notched his first career two-goal game in the WHL. Cael Zimmerman and Orca Wiesblatt also found the back of the net for the visitors while captain Josh Prokop chipped in a pair of helpers.
Oren Shtrom was the top performer for Medicine Hat with a pair of goals. His second of the night on a third period power play with 5:47 remaining forced extra time. Corson Hopwo and Brett Kemp also scored for the Tigers who saw their five-game winning streak come to an end.
Calgary fired a season-high 45 shots on goal and received a 29 save performance from goaltender Jack McNaughton to spit their three-game set with the Tigers going 1-1-1-0 over the last four days.
With the win, the Hitmen return to the .500 mark at 6-6-2-0 while Medicine Hat slips to 9-3-0-1.
Calgary will now prepare to face the Red Deer Rebels for a trio of games beginning Friday in Central Alberta while the Tigers will get Lethbridge for three straight also beginning Friday.
