
Hitmen to Make Two Picks in Tuesday's 2020 CHL Import Draft

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen Hockey Club today announced they will make two picks in the 2020 Canadian Hockey League Import Draft. The online draft consists of two rounds and will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, June 30. [CHL Import Logo EN] Beginning at 9:00 a.m. MT, fans can follow along live at www.chl.ca/draft with Calgary's two selections currently the 36th and 96th picks overall.
CHL teams are allowed a maximum of two import players and the Hitmen have a pair of vacancies on their roster. Defencemen Egor Zamula is expected to turn pro with the Philadelphia Flyers organization while forward Jonas Peterek was traded to the Kelowna Rockets in January.
The selection order of the draft rotates through the OHL, QMJHL and WHL using an inverse order of the final regular season standings from the 2019-20 season. The Ontario Hockey League's North Bay Battalion will pick first overall.
Past Hitmen CHL Import Draft selections include: Vladislav Yeryomenko (2016), Pavel Karnaukhov (2014), Radel Fazleev (2013), Pavel Padakin (2012), Victor Rask (2011), Bostjan Golicic (2007), Freddie Pettersson (2005), Konstantin Pushkarev (2004), Fredrik Sjostrom (2001) and Pavel Brendl (1998).
