Hitmen Surge past Raiders

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen scored three unanswered third period goals to defeat the CHL's number two-ranked Prince Albert Raiders 4-2 on Wednesday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

Trailing 2-1 heading into the final frame, Orca Wiesblatt drew the Hitmen even just past the five minute mark then tallied the game winner with 1:22 remaining. Egor Zamula later added an empty net marker to preserve the victory. Jonas Peterek also scored for Calgary while Luke Prokop chipped in a pair of assists.

Spencer Moe and Evan Herman replied for the Raiders who suffered just their third regulation loss in 18 games this season.

The Hitmen outshot Prince Albert 32-28 with rookie goalie Brayden Peters making 26 saves to pick up the win.

Calgary, 9-5-1-0, will wrap up their five-game homestand on Friday, Nov. 8 against the Tri-City Americans. It's RE/MAX Chuck-A-Puck where four lucky participants will win a hot air balloon ride courtesy of RE/MAX. Game time is 7:00 p.m. at Scotiabank Saddledome.
