
Hitmen Set for 2013 WHL Bantam Draft

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen Hockey Club will pick 18th overall when the Western Hockey League holds its annual Bantam Draft on Thursday, May 2 in the Sundance Room at the Deerfoot Inn. Beginning at 8:30 a.m., the draft can be viewed online via live webcast at www.whl.ca.
The WHL Bantam Draft is the first opportunity for WHL Clubs to replenish their systems with graduating bantam-aged players. The order of selection for the first round of the draft is determined through a weighted lottery consisting of the six non-playoff teams. The draft order is based on the inverse overall standings from the regular season.

Players eligible for the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft will be 1998-born players who reside in Alberta, B.C., Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Northwest Territories, Yukon, Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
Former Hitmen bantam picks include Brennan Riddle (2012), Jake Virtanen (2011), Greg Chase (2010), Alex Roach (2008), Cody Sylvester (2007), Martin Jones (2005) and Ryan Getzlaf (2000).
