Hitmen Clinch Division Title With Win Over Raiders

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen clinched their third consecutive Central Division title with a 5-0 win over the visiting Prince Albert Raiders Tuesday night.

The victory also pulls the Hitmen two points ahead of Saskatoon for number one overall in the Western Hockey League.

Five different Hitmen struck for goals in the win; Joel Broda, Giffen Nyren, Tyler Shattock, Michael Stone and Ian Schultz.

Martin Jones made 25 saves and broke two franchise records in the process, setting a new Hitmen mark for career regular season shutouts with 14 and minutes played with 8,404.

Calgary struck for two goals in the first period, two in the second and one more in the third as they fired 37 shots at the Raiders net.

The Hitmen are back in action Thursday night when they host the Swift Current Broncos. Game time is 7pm at the Pengrowth Saddledome.
