
Hill Named Head Coach

WILSON, N.C - The Wilson Tobs of the Coastal Plain League have announced that effective immediately,ÃÂ Bryan Hill has been named the head coach for the remainder of the 2012 season.
Hill will replace Jason Immekus who resigned last week.
"I have full confidence in Bryan Hill that the transition will be smooth and successful. Moreover, with the fresh start on Saturday, the Tobs have all the makings for a great second half run." Tobs President Greg Suire said.
Finishing his first year on the staff at Chowan, Hill started his coaching career as an assistant coach at Jackson State Community College in Jackson, Tennessee. At JSCC, Hill served as the pitching coach and as the Strength and ConditioningÃÂ coordinator for the entire Athletic Department. Hill graduated from Chowan in May of 2009 and worked locally as a personal trainer for one year. He volunteered as the Hawks strength and conditioning coach andÃÂ served as a volunteer assistant for the 2009-2010 season. After one season, Hill has worked several baseball camps over his coaching career. He is married to Jacqueline Ferns Hill of Chesapeake, Virginia, and they reside in Murfreesboro.
As a player at Chowan,ÃÂ Hill spent four years as a starting pitcher and outfielder for the Hawks (2005-2009). Holding the career record for innings pitched (267.1), he was named in 2006 to the All NCCAA South Region Team as a left handed pitcher.
The Wilson Tobs are a proud member of the Coastal Plain League, the nation's hottest summer collegiate baseball league. Celebrating its 16th season in 2012, the CPL features 14 teams playing in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The CPL gives college players the chance to refine their skills with the use of wooden bats. Players are housed with local families for the summer and past experiences have been very positive for both the players and hosts. Furthermore, the CPL has had over 1,000 alumni drafted and 52 alums - including 2011 AL MVP and CY Young winner Justin Verlander - make their Major League debut thus far.
