
Highmore Agrees to Three-Year Deal with Blackhawks

SAINT JOHN - Saint John Sea Dogs centre Matthew Highmore has agreed to terms on a three-year contract with the Chicago Blackhawks.
The Blackhawks made the announcement today.
Highmore, who turned 21 on Monday, is in his fifth season with the Sea Dogs, which selected him in the first round (8th overall) of the 2012 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Entry Draft. He is Saint John's leading scorer with 32 goals and 82 points, placing him seventh on the QMJHL's scoring list this season.
The native of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, is among the Sea Dogs' franchise leaders in several offensive categories with 283 games played (third), 88 goals (third), 152 assists (second) and 240 points (third). He also joins Spencer Smallman and Mike Thomas as the only five-year players in team history.
