
Hidalgo La Fiera Win Season Opener

BEAUMONT, Texas - Hidalgo La Fiera earned their first victory of the 2014-2015 season by defeating the Texas Strikers by a final score 13-7 on Saturday night at Ford Arena.
La Fiera (1-0) scored four goals in the first quarter which was highlighted by Edgar Flores, who had four goals and a Robson De Souza goal, which was the first of his hat trick.
In the second quarter, the Texas Strikers (0-1) and Hidalgo traded two goals that made it 6-2 before a rally from the Strikers. During that span De Souza scored his second goal.
The Strikers scored three more goals in the second quarter to make it a 6-5 game at the break which was as close as it would get.
Hidalgo restored their four goal lead to 9-5 in the third quarter when De Souza capped his hat trick and Flores added his second goal of the night. Angel Sanchez scored his first goal of the season during the third quarter.
The Strikers added two goals to start the fourth quarter to trim their deficit at 9-7 before an Hidalgo rally. La Fiera added four more goals which completed the four goal night for Flores and capped the scoring at 13-7.
Juan Gamboa (1-0) earned the victory between the pipes for La Fiera, while Thomas Guerreiro (0-1) took the loss for the Strikers.
The next game for Hidalgo La Fiera is Wednesday night, November 12 when they visit Monterrey Flash at Monterrey Arena with the kickoff set for 8:35 pm.
Hidalgo La Fiera will have their first regular season home game for Hidalgo La Fiera will be on Sunday November 23rd at State Farm Arena versus Monterrey Flash.
