Ontario Fury News Release
The Ontario Fury, Driven by Mark Christopher Chevrolet, matched its team record for goals in a single game as they dispatched the Sacramento Surge 12-7 to complete Military Appreciation Weekend.
Ontario (1-1 overall) broke a 1-1 tie in the first quarter by scoring twice in 1:02, as Christian Saray and Luis Piffer found the back of the net. A fourth goal from Gerardo Guerrero gave Ontario a 4-2 lead after one.
The Fury broke open the game early in the second quarter, as they scored three times in the first 2:58. Ontario ended the period with five goals, taking a 9-4 lead at the half.
Sacramento (0-2) pulled within three goals in the third quarter, as Gabriel Padilla and Danny Mititelu converted penalty shootouts at the start of power plays 1;03 apart. But the rally was stymied by two Ontario goals to close out the period.
