
Hickey, Scott and Nielsen each get three points in 6-4 win over Tri-City

Seattle, WA - Bud Holloway scored four goals, three in the last 2:45 of the game, Saturday night to lead the Seattle Thunderbirds to a 6-4 victory over the Tri-City Americans in front of 4,011 at KeyArena.
Seattle was down 4-3 when Holloway took over and scored the tying goal at 17:15, the game-winning goal at 19:27 and an empty-net goal at 19:55 of the third period.
The game winning goal came with 33 seconds left in the third period. Thomas Hickey brought the puck into the Americans zone on the left side. From just inside the left circle Hickey put a wrist shot on goal. Pickard stopped the shot but the puck rebounded to Holloway to the right of the goal. Holloway put the rebound past Pickard to put the T-Birds in front. Benn Olson had the second assist on the go-ahead goal. Holloway had an assist to go with his four goals and his five points is the most a T-Bird has scored in a game this season.
Hickey and Greg Scott both had a goal and two assists while Lindsay Nielsen had three assists in the game.
Seattle improved to 7-4-2-1 in the US Division and will face the Spokane Chiefs on Sunday night at 5:05 p.m. at KeyArena.
Seattle took a 1-0 lead at 3:33 of the first period on a goal by Hickey. Hickey brought the puck into the Americans zone along the left boards on a 3-on-2 break. He made a quick pass to Ian McKenzie in the high slot who made a move around a Tri-City defender and put a backhand shot on goal. The puck rebounded to the left of the Americans net on the goal line. Hickey got to the puck and beat Tri-City goalie Chet Pickard on the short side.
Tri-City (13-5-0-0) outshot Seattle 11-7 in the first period.
The T-Birds took a 2-0 lead 31 seconds into the second period on a great play by Scott. Holloway broke up ice from the Seattle zone on a 2-on-2 with Scott on his left. Holloway fed Scott the puck as they were coming across the Tri-City blue line. Scott came in on goal with an Americans defender draped all over him. Scott fell to the ice but was able to poke the puck across the crease to Holloway. Pickard, anticipating a shot from Scott, was out of position to stop Holloway, who put the puck into an empty net. Hickey had the second assist on the goal.
Taylor Procyshen scored at 13:33 of the second to get the Americans on the board. Kruise Reddick and Petr Stoklasa had the assists.
The T-Birds outshot the Americans 6-4 in the second period but Tri-City led in total shots, 15-13, going into the second intermission.
Procyshen scored an unassisted goal at 7:02 of the third period to tie the game 2-2.
Scott put the T-Birds in front 3-2 at 8:15 of the third off of great assists from Holloway and Nielsen. Holloway took control of the puck in the neutral zone and came into the Americans zone on the right side. Holloway stick handled around an Americans defender but was tripped up in the right circle. From the seat of his pants Holloway made a backhand pass into the crease to Nielsen. Nielsen quickly backhanded the puck to Scott at the left post. Scott buried the puck past Pickard to put the T-Birds in front.
Colton Yellow Horn tied the game 3-3 at 11:16 of the third. Brett Plouffe had the only assist on the goal.
Yellow Horn put the Americans up 4-3 at 16:26 of the third on assists from Reddick and Blair Macaulay.
Holloway scored at 17:15 of the third to tie the game 4- 4. Nielsen and Prab Rai had the assists. Holloway beat Pickard with a slap shot from the right circle.
Holloway added an empty-net goal at 19:55 of the third to seal the win for the T-Birds. Nielsen and Scott both had assists on Seattle's sixth goal.
Seattle outshot Tri-City 12-5 in the third period and 25- 22 overall.
Seattle goalie Jacob DeSerres stopped 18 of 22 shot to get the win and improve his record to 2-1-0-1.
Pickard stopped 19 of 24 shots and his record falls to 11-3-0-0.
The T-Birds face the Spokane Chiefs Sunday night at KeyArena at 5:05 p.m. in the third game in three days.
