South Carolina Stingrays News Release
NORTH CHARLESTON, SC-South Carolina Stingrays Head Coach Jason Fitzsimmons announced today that the Hershey bears have assigned Aaron Power, Ty Morris, Jeff Legue, Cam McCaffrey, David Spina, and JF David.
McCaffrey played last season with the Stingrays after being acquired in a trade from the Las Vegas Wranglers. A rookie a year ago, he split his time between the Stingrays and the Portland Pirates of the AHL. In 30 games with the Stingrays, the Calgary native had two goals and an assist.
JF David is a defenseman entering his fourth season as a professional. Last season he spent 78 games with the Danbury Thrashers of the UHL scoring nine goals and adding 32 assists. Before his professional career began, David spent four years in the QMJHL with Shawinigan. His best season as a Junior came in the 01-02 campaign when he had 21 goals and 49 assists for 70 points in 70 games.
"We are excited to have another young offensive minded defenseman on our team," commented Fitzsimmons. "JF will be out there for us in some key situations."
Spina, Legue, Power and Morris, all signed earlier in the summer with the Stingrays and will be on the ice with the team when training camp begins on October 9th at the Carolina Ice Palace.
The Stingrays will drop the puck on their 13th season of professional hockey in October. A variety of season ticket and group ticket packages are already on sale. For ticket information contact the Stingrays office at 744-2248 or log on to www.stingrayshockey.com.
