Hershey Bears sign Jeff Schultz to ATO

The President / GM of the HERSHEY Bears Hockey Club, Doug Yingst, announced today that they have signed defenseman Jeff Schultz to an American Hockey League amateur tryout contract. As per club policy terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Schultz was drafted in the first round of the 2004 National Hockey League entry draft by the Washington Capitals. Schultz, 6-6, 212, is a native of Calgary, Alberta. The assistant captain for the Calgary Hitmen of the Western Hockey League, Schultz amassed 22 goals and 85 assists in 262 games over the past four seasons.

The BEARS will take their quest for a ninth Calder Cup Championship to Norfolk for Games 2 and 3 on Friday, April 21st and Saturday, April 22nd. You can listen to John Wilsbach call those games live on WQIC 100.1 FM. The best of seven series will return to GIANT Center ice for Game 4 on April 25th, Game 5 on April 28th, and Game 6 on April 29th, all homes games will start at 7:00 PM. If necessary the series will return to Norfolk on Monday, May 1st for Game 7. Tickets for all BEARS home playoff games are available at the GIANT Center box office or by calling (717) 508-BEAR.
