AHL Hershey Bears

Games two and three shift to Norfolk

April 21, 2006 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Hershey Bears News Release

The HERSHEY BEARS and Norfolk Admirals will travel south to play games two and three at the Norfolk Scope this weekend.

Game one Wednesday was a hard fought, highly competitive game that went to the HERSHEY BEARS by a score of 3-2. Kris Beech, Tomas Fleischmann and Boyd Gordon provided the offense for the BEARS and Frederic Cassivi made 30 saves to earn the game one victory.

HERSHEY looks to ride the momentum from Wednesday into Norfolk tonight for game two of the best-of-seven series. The BEARS will once again look to get production from their special teams. The penalty kill unit, led by Dave Steckel, killed 8 of 9 penalties and held Norfolk in check all night with the man advantage. The power play unit also notched a goal from Kris Beech in their 5 chances.

Norfolk will look to once again get a solid goaltending effort from Adam Munro. Prior to game one, Munro had a 0.50 GAA to his credit against the HERSHEY BEARS. Former BEAR, Carl Corazzini made his trip back to HERSHEY a productive one, scoring a power play goal early in the second period.

Notables: The Bridgeport Sound Tigers took a 1-0 lead over Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in the best-of-seven series last night with a 2-1 victory over the Penguins. The Washington Capitals will select fourth in this years NHL draft.

Tickets are still on sale for game four against Norfolk (Tuesday, April 25th) by stopping by the GIANT Center box office or by calling (717) 508-BEAR. Season Tickets are also available; call Bob Ancharski in the Season Ticket sales office (717) 508-BEAR to secure the best seats for next season. The first 3,000 full season ticket holders will once again receive two Washington Capitals tickets per seat.
