Herrera's Homer Downs Hillsboro
May 28, 2021 - Northwest League (NWL)
Tri-City Dust Devils News Release
On a blustery evening the Tri-City Dust Devils (6-15) topped the Hillsboro Hops 7-6 on Thursday at Gesa Stadium. Carlos Herrera hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning for the Dust Devils that proved to be the difference in the game.
The long ball was a major factor for both teams, thanks in large part to the wind gusts that were at 30 mph at first pitch. Five of the 12 hits between the two teams were home runs, with Brendon Davis joining Herrera as the two Tri-City sluggers to go yard. Reliever Chad Sykes earned the win after slamming the door shut on the Hops over the final three innings.
Coming up on Friday night the Dust Devils will send right-hander Davis Daniel to the mound in the fourth matchup of the six-game series. Hillsboro will counter with right-hander Slade Cecconi.
Tickets for home games in May are now available by going to www.dustdevilsbaseball.com or by calling the team's office at (509) 544-8789. With capacity restrictions in place, it's more important than ever to get your tickets prior to the day of the game.
