
Hernandez Hailed Pitcher of the Week

The American Association announced today that Winnipeg Goldeyes pitcher Nick Hernandez has been named the Pointstreak Pitcher of the Week for the week ending May 31.
Hernandez, 26, posted two quality starts last week and gave up just one run in 12 1/3 innings of work. He shutout the Wichita Wingnuts for six innings on May 26 for his first quality start of the season. Yesterday, he worked his second quality start of the season, giving up just one run in 6 1/3 innings against the Joplin Blasters.
On the season, Hernandez is 0-1 with a 2.08 ERA in three starts. He's tied for third in the league with 14 strikeouts this season.
The Goldeyes open the home portion of the their schedule tomorrow night at Shaw Park against the Sioux Falls Canaries. Game time is 7 p.m. The first 5,000 fans through the gates receive a Goldeyes 2015 magnet schedule and there will be post-game fireworks.
