HARRISON, NJ - Thierry Henry scored his eighth goal of the season on Saturday night in spectacular fashion to lift the New York Red Bulls to a 2-1 win over defending MLS Cup Champion Sporting Kansas City at Red Bull Arena in front of a crowd of 20,831 spectators. With the win, New York moved back into the fifth and final playoff position with an 8-8-10 record and 34 points.
Bradley Wright-Phillips continued his torrid scoring form in 2014, recording his League-best 21st goal of the season to give New York the initial lead in the first half (MLS single-season goal record is 27).
