Get Behind the Rapids as They Tackle the Timbers

Colorado Rapids News Release

There's no place like home, and the Colorado Rapids will be hoping that's the case as three of the next four games are at Dick's Sporting Goods Park, starting with the visit of Portland Timbers on September 13 (TICKETS).

This will be a third meeting of the season with the Timbers, and the second at the home of the Rapids. On March 22, goals from Vicente Sánchez and Deshorn Brown gave Pablo Mastroeni a winning home debut as head coach in the team's second game of the season.

Portland then gained the upper hand at Providence Park, on July 18, coming from behind to win 2-1, claiming all three points courtesy of a stunning strike from Diego Valeri.

The Timbers finished top of the Western Conference in 2013, but have found this season a little tougher. Struggling defensively in the first half of the campaign, Caleb Porter's side strengthened mid-season with the acquisition of Liam Ridgewell.

They have since picked up, and currently lie fifth in the standings, four points ahead of the Rapids but with a home game against San Jose Earthquakes on Sunday (September 7).

There is a special deal on offer for the Timbers game, as part of the Lads Night Out, presented by Odell. Fans can get a ticket in the South Stand, a 90 Shilling beer and a hat for just $25.
