Heemskerk Returns to Mallards

MOLINE, Ill. (December 21, 2013) - Goaltender Thomas Heemskerk has returned to the Quad City Mallards from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League, the Mallards announced today. The Mallards also announced they have waived goaltender Michael Meadows.
Heemskerk signed a professional tryout agreement with the Wild Wednesday and served as back-up in Iowa's game against the Grand Rapids Griffins on Wednesday evening.
In ten games with the Mallards this season Heemskerk has gone 5-1-3 with a 2.92 goals against average and a .909 save percentage. The 23-year old Chilliwack, British Columbia, native ranks seventh in the Central Hockey League in save percentage and is tied for eighth in goals against average.
Meadows joined the Mallards Friday and backed up Ty Rimmer as the Mallards fell to the Chill in St. Charles on Wednesday night and last night dropped a 5-2 decision to the Oilers in Tulsa.
The Mallards play at home tonight at 7:05 p.m. against the Chill. The first 1,000 fans through the doors for tonight's game will receive free Mallards knit caps courtesy of CBS 4 and the Bier Stube.

The ticket office is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and on game days from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the second period.
