Heat Defeat Bulldogs 3-2 in Overtime

Hamilton, Ontario - The Abbotsford Heat defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs 3-2 in overtime at Copps Coliseum on Tuesday night. Joe Piskula scored the game-winning goal in overtime while Greg Nemisz added a goal and an assist.
The Bulldogs opened the scoring at 17:19 of the first period on a goal by Philippe Lefebvre. Aaron Palushaj passed the puck from the left wing to Brian Willsie in the slot who took a shot which was stopped by Abbotsford Heat starting goaltender Leland Irving. The rebound came out into the slot where Lefebvre slid the puck into the open net.
The Heat tied the score at 3:22 of the second stanza on a tally by Greg Nemisz. Quintin Laing fed the puck to Nemisz at the blue line who skated from the slot to the right circle and wristed a shot over the blocker of Hamilton starting goaltender Robert Mayer. Abbotsford took the lead at 17:37 on the power play on a marker by Jon Rheault. Guillaume Desbiens was behind the net and threw a pass out in front of the net to Rheault in the slot where he chipped the puck over the glove of Mayer.
The 'Dogs tied the game at 5:00 of the third stanza on a goal by Olivier Fortier on the power play. Aaron Palushaj circled from right to left around the net and feathered a pass from the left circle to Fortier who was at the right circle. Fortier one-timed the pass and put the puck under Irving and in the net.
The Heat won the game at 3:59 of overtime on a goal by Joe Piskula. After receiving a pass at the right point from T.J. Brodie, Piskula fired a shot which flew over the glove of Mayer and in the top of the net.
The Bulldogs will continue their homestand when they face the Houston Aeros on Friday, November 4th at 7:30 P.M. and will then battle the Lake Erie Monsters on Saturday, November 5th at 7:00 P.M.
