Abbotsford Heat News Release

Peoria, IL - The Abbotsford Heat look to extend their winning streak to three games tonight as they open a five game road trip that takes the club through the American Midwest against the Peoria Rivermen (St. Louis Blues). Having already faced the 13 other conference rivals this season, this is the first meeting between the Heat and the Rivermen in 2011-12.

The Heat arrive in Illinois riding the momentum of back-to-back home wins over the Houston Aeros. After scoring just six goals in their prior six games, the Heat potted seven goals in two weekend victories thanks in part to two recent acquisitions up front - Hugh Jessiman and Adam Estoclet.

The Rivermen and Heat are currently tied with the San Antonio Rampage with 59 points, good for sixth spot in the Western Conference, though the Heat have played two fewer games than their counterparts. The Rivermen and Heat will play twice this week at the Carver Arena in downtown Peoria, with the next meeting coming this Sunday evening, which will be the third game in three days for both hockey clubs. The Heat enter tonight's action having won two games in a row while the Rivermen have won six of their last eight contests.

Tonight's game can be heard in its entirety online at theAHL.com, with Country 107.1 FM joining the broadcast at 5:00 PST following the 4:45 pre-game show. The game can be heard on Country 107.1's website, and is available via the Rogers Radio App on your wireless device.
