Abbotsford Heat News Release

San Antonio, TX - The Abbotsford Heat close out their second divisional road trip this afternoon with their fifth meeting of the season with the San Antonio Rampage. After a 3-1 loss yesterday in Oklahoma City, an Abbotsford win today would vault the club back into top spot in the Western Conference with 53 points.

The season series has seen great performances from the visiting team, which has won all four contests quite handily. The Heat beat the Rampage last Tuesday 5-0 as Danny Taylor recorded his second shutout of the season, while the team saw goals from five different skaters. Taylor has started fifteen consecutive games for the Heat while allowing just 28 goals over that stretch. He's allowed just five goals in four games over eleven periods this road trip.

Tomorrow, the Heat will travel back to the Fraser Valley to begin preparing for their first action against the Charlotte Checkers (Carolina Hurricanes). The Heat host the Checkers on January 20th and 21st at the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre. Charlotte leads the Midwest Division with 48 points in 40 games, having amassed 19 points in 18 games away from home.

This afternoon's start is slated for 2:00 PM PST with the pre-game show starting at 1:45 on CIVL 101.7 - University of the Fraser Valley's Campus Community Radio Station. The game can be heard on CIVL in Abbotsford and theAHL.com online.
