Abbotsford Heat News Release
Abbotsford, BC - The Abbotsford Heat are back where they've been their best - the road, and more specifically, Texas. Tonight the club faces the San Antonio Rampage, which opens a five game road trip that sees all the action being played over just seven days.
Two games from the mid-point of the season, one of the characteristics the 2011-12 edition of the Heat have consistently shown is strong road play. The club is undefeated in the state of Texas having won all five games played in the lone star state to this point of the schedule. On the whole the Heat have 15 wins in 19 road contests; one of those wins came in San Antonio as the Heat shutout the Rampage 4-0 in front of over 10,000 students in a rare morning game.
The Heat will depart San Antonio immediately after the game tonight, for Greater Austin, TX where they'll face the Texas Stars tomorrow at 5:30. The Heat will then close out their ten-day journey with three games in three days. This coming weekend the Heat play two in Oklahoma City, and the finale is back in San Antonio on Monday afternoon for Martin Luther King Day.
Next home action for the Heat will come on January 20th and 21st against the Charlotte Checkers (Carolina Hurricanes) in their only trip to the Fraser Valley this season.
Tonight's start is slated for 5:00 PM with the pre-game show starting at 4:45 on theAHL.com. Country 107.1 will join the broadcast at 5:00.
