
Heakins, Doyon Receive NAHL Honors

On Monday, the North American Hockey League announced the Easton Divisional Stars of the Week. Receiving honorable mentions for the Aberdeen Wings were forwards #8 Drew Doyon (F-Indianapolis, IN) and #12 Austin Heakins (F-Pittsburgh, PA).
Doyon was recognized for his 1 goal and 2 assists in the Wings' 2-1-0 week. Doyon had two assists on Friday night, both assisting line mate Heakins. Doyon, in his 2nd NAHL season, has compiled 12 goals and 8 assists with the Aberdeen Wings in his career.
Heakins, also in his 2nd NAHL season, received honors for his two goals and one assist week. On Friday in Brookings, Heakins had the game-tying goal making it 2-2. With 2.5 seconds left on the clock, he scored the game-winning goal on nice assists from Doyon and #19 Colin O'Neill (F-Odenton, MD). Heakins has put up 6 goals and 8 assists while wearing an Aberdeen Wings jersey.
The Wings are on the road Friday night taking on the Brookings Blizzard and at home on Saturday vs. the Blizzard. You can watch/listen on FASTHockey.com, 94.1 The Rock, and ESPNAberdeen.com.
