AMARILLO, TX - The Amarillo Bulls received some good news late Monday afternoon when one of its own was chosen as a North American Hockey League Player of The Week. Defenseman Kasper Emanuelsson was selected as the South Division player of the week.
The Amarillo Bulls picked up two wins in three games last week and earned some valuable points in the standings. 19-year-old defenseman Kasper Emanuelsson from Leksand, Sweden, played well during the week, which was capped with a sweep of the Odessa Jackalopes After being held scoreless in a 4-2 loss on Tuesday in Wichita Falls, Emanuelsson (5'6/185) assisted on both Bulls goals in Friday's 2-1 win.
On Saturday, Emanuelsson scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in a 6-1 win. He was also a +2 during the weekend. For the season, Emanuelsson is 2nd on the Bulls in scoring with 12 points in 15 games played.
"Kasper is a very solid defenseman and is great at both ends. He has a quick release on his shot, which really lends itself well to the effectiveness of our power play," said Amarillo head coach Jon Rogger.
The Amarillo Bulls seven game home stand begins this weekend when they face the Lone Star Brahmas. It's the third and four meetings of the season as the Amarillo Bulls visit the Lone Star Brahmas at NYTEX Center in North Richland Hills, TX.
