
Hawks Send Four to NWL/PIO All Star Game

BOISE, ID - The Boise Hawks, Northwest League Short Season Class-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, in conjunction with the Northwest League, have announced they are sending a league-high four players to the Northwest League/Pioneer League All Star Game.
Pitchers Julian Ferguson and Javier Medina, 1B Jacob Bosiokovic, and SS Garrett Hampson have been selected to represent the Northwest League in the short season Mid-Summer Classic in Ogden, UT.
"The honor of representing your league is a once-in-a-lifetime experience," stated Hawks' General Manager Bob Flannery. "Hawks fans should be excited to see our players play in the All Star Game."
Bosiokovic has stormed through the Northwest League, leading in batting average (.344), slugging percentage (.536), OPS (.974), total bases (67) and doubles (12). He is projected to start at first base for the Northwest League.
Hampson, a third round pick in the 2016 MLB Draft, has also been effective at the plate, hitting .308 with 9 doubles and 5 triples. He is projected to start at shortstop for the Northwest League.
Medina (5-1), the Rockies' third round pick in 2015, has struck out 27 batters in 31 innings, through 7 starts.
Fernandez (1-2), has converted 8 of 8 save opportunities as the Hawks' closer. Opposing hitters are batting .180, striking out 11 in 14 innings. He's posted a 1.93 ERA for the 2016 season.
