Tri-City Dust Devils News Release
Dust Devils Twirl One-Hit Shutout Four pitchers combined to blank the Spokane Indians (2-1, 21-20) on Thursday night as the Tri-City Dust Devils (1-2, 20-21) came away with the 3-0 win in the series finale. The lone hit of the game for the Indians came in the first inning. The Dust Devils drove home the only run they would need in the top of the first inning thanks to a two-out single from G.K. Young that scored Nate Easley. Tri-City would add two additional runs after a costly error by Charles LeBlanc. Spokane's shortstop dropped what would have been the final out of the top of the third inning. The Dust Devils were able to score two runs as a result of the mistake. Joey Lucchesi, Branxton Lorenzini, Evan Miller, and Diomar Lopez combined to toss the third shutout of the season for Tri-City. Lorenzini picked up the win after throwing four scoreless and hitless innings in relief. The Dust Devils will head to Vancouver to begin a three-game series with the Canadians on tonight. Left-hander Eric Lauer will start the opener for Tri-City, while Vancouver will counter with one of the top pitchers in the Northwest League, right-hander Patrick Murphy. The team will return home August 4th, which will be License Plate Frame Giveaway Night presented by Lourdes Health, to begin an eight-game homestand. Great seats are available by calling the Dust Devils' front office at (509) 544-8789 or by going to www.dustdevilsbaseball.com to purchase tickets. Dust Devils Baseball.
