Portland Winterhawks News Release
The Portland Winterhawks wrap up their regular season slate against Tri-City with a 4-2 loss to the Americans on the road.
The two teams traded blows in the first period as Jared Freadrich and Cody Glass scored for the Hawks within a 1:07 window, but Tri-City found a way to regain a lead through two periods.
Late in the middle frame, Samuel Huo scored from a low shot on the left wing post to give the Americans a 3-2 lead heading into the intermission. Coming out for the third period, Joachim Blichfeld was given his first penalty shot of the season, but Beck Warm made the save to keep the home team on top by one goal.
Warm and the American withheld the Hawks' late push and turned aside the last 20 shots of the night. Tri-City improves to 7-1-0-0 head-to-head against the Hawks.
