Everett Hawks News Release

EVERETT - The Big Apple Casino and Club Broadway were rocking last Friday evening, but not to the tune of slot machines and black jack. It was football fever in the air on Friday night, specifically Everett Hawks football. The team hosted its first ever Pre-Season FanFest attracting 120 fans with appearances by players, the Everett Hawks Dance Team, and food provided by several local vendors. The party also featured a silent auction with numerous pieces of Hawks' merchandise and a holiday toy drive sponsored by the Volunteers of America.

The evening opened with a few welcoming words by Hawks' President Dan Foutz along with brief introductions of the new front office staff and the three players in attendance. Antonio Chandler, Mike Rigell and AJ Street are all members of the Hawks' loaded receiving corps and fans both young and old were thrilled to chat with them and get some autographs. With introductions out of the way the fans enjoyed themselves mingling with players and dancers while snacking on food provided by The Flying Pig, El Paraiso, Mo's BBQ, A Pizza House and QFC. Fans also got a look at the Hawks new line of holiday merchandise which is available now at the team store.

The most entertaining part of the evening was the Hawks' Dance Team. The new line-up for 2006, lead by team captain and Hawks' Community Relations Director, Leslie Ruppert, shook their tail feathers so to speak and put on a great show for everyone there. The Dance Team's 2006 calendar is currently on sale at the team store and the girls are scheduled to make their next appearance on KOMO-4's "After the Game" with Eric Johnson this Monday, December 12.

The Hawks would like to thank all the restaurants for their generous food donations, and especially the Big Apple Casino for providing the space for the event. Most of all the organization would like to thank the fans for their great support and charitable donations to the toy drive. Happy holidays to everyone on behalf of the entire Hawks' family.
