Hawks Bullpen and Timely Hitting Gather 3-2 Win against Canadians

BOISE, ID - Some clutch hitting and then an explosive bullpen outing got the Boise Hawks (Short Season A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies) a 3-2 win and a series victory over the Vancouver Canadians (Short Season A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays).
Through his first four innings of work, Hawks starting pitcher Wander Cabrera gathered four innings of work and didn't allow an earned run to come across. He did allow five hits, but left all the runners were left stranded.
Vancouver scored first in the top of the sixth inning with an RBI-triple from Mc Gregory Contreras and an RBI-single from Tanner Morris to take a 2-0 lead.
After Ezequiel Tovar reached base, who was celebrating his 18th birthday, Vladimir Dilone singled and brought home Tovar for a 2-1 score, still with Vancouver leading.
The bottom of the seventh proved to be crucial for Boise. After Yorvis Torrealba was hit by a pitch, he stole second base and then Zach Hall walked on a full count one batter later. With two gone, Bladimir Restituyo hit a shot to left and it went past a sliding attempt of the left fielder, scoring both Torrealba and Hall to make it 3-2 Boise.
The bullpen combination of Boby Johnson, Reagan Todd and Jacob Wallace combined for three innings, no hits or runs, and five strikeouts. Todd was credited with his fourth hold on the year and Wallace collected his ninth save of the season. He now leads the Northwest League in saves.
The Hawks will trek to Eugene to take on the Emeralds for a three-game series from PK Park starting Friday night.
