The South Bend Silver Hawks (66-72, 31-37) were limited to just one hit Saturday and fell 3-0 to the Great Lakes Loons in front of 6,052 fans at Dow Diamond. The Silver Hawks have now lost eight of their last nine games.

Joel Lima (2-0) took the win for the Loons, allowing just one hit over six scoreless innings. The right-hander walked three and struck out four. Left-hander Keith Hessler (2-5) was a tough luck loser and allowed one unearned run on three hits over six innings. Craig Stem worked the final inning and earned his fourth save.

The Loons took the lead in the second inning when O'Koyea Dickson stole home. Great Lakes added two more runs in the eighth inning; Jesus Arredondo stroked an RBI triple and Nick Akins notched a sacrifice fly.

Right-hander J.R. Bradley worked two innings out of the Silver Hawks bullpen and allowed two earned runs on three hits.

The Silver Hawks and Loons play the second game of a three-game series Sunday at Dow Diamond.
