Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
Waterloo, Iowa - Recognize the men and women who make special contributions to your community by recommending them for the Tim Taylor Legacy Seats, presented by Mike Molstead Motors.
Some of those who have been honored with these special tickets to Waterloo Black Hawks games include firefighters, youth coaches, individuals who have made exceptional fundraising efforts for charity, and people who have overcome tremendous personal adversity to provide inspiration to us all.
Selected recipients of the four Tim Taylor Legacy Seats will be featured on the Black Hawks' video scoreboard during the game they are chosen to attend at Young Arena. Nominations will be accepted online at waterlooblackhawks.com.
Tim Taylor became a Black Hawk during the autumn of 1963, and will long be remembered for a coaching career which included parts of four decades as an NCAA head coach or assistant, as well as helping to lead two United States Olympic squads. Before that, while he was still a senior player in the United States Hockey League, the former Harvard captain was a key figure in a city hockey program which has evolved into the Waterloo Youth Hockey Association of today.
Taylor passed away in 2013. After playing for and serving as an assistant coach for Harvard, he left his mark on the Yale hockey program, winning 337 games at the school. Since 2014, the Tim Taylor Cup has been presented to the most outstanding player of the annual Harvard-Yale men's hockey game played in Boston.
Waterloo's Tim Taylor Legacy Seats program, presented by Mike Molstead Motors, began in 2016.
The Black Hawks' next home game is Saturday against the Des Moines Buccaneers. For tickets, visit waterlooblackhawks.com or call the Domino's Black Hawks Box Office at (319) 291-7680.
