Stein Sharp over Solid Weekend

Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
Waterloo, Iowa - Veteran goaltender Logan Stein was named the United State Hockey League's Goaltender of the Week on Tuesday after helping the Waterloo Black Hawks secure a pair of one-goal wins.
It was the second time Stein has claimed the award. Last season, on January 18th, the Ferris State recruit was recognized by the league during his initial campaign with the Hawks. He went on to be selected for the USHL All-Rookie Second Team at season's end, posting a record of 16-6-1, with a 2.81 goals-against average.
Stein's first appearance of 2019/20 came on Saturday against the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. Entering the game midway through the first period with Waterloo trailing 2-1, he turned away 18 of 19 RoughRider chances, giving the Hawks time to rally for a 4-3 win.
Saturday at home versus the Tri-City Storm, Stein started and recorded his second career USHL shutout. All 26 Tri-City shots were stopped, many of them coming during six Storm power plays. Waterloo won the game, 1-0. Stein's previous shutout had been a 3-0 affair with 24 saves against the Des Moines Buccaneers on February 15th last season.
Stein is the first Black Hawk to win one of the USHL's weekly awards in 2019/20.
This weekend, Stein and the Hawks play just one game, hosting Des Moines at 7:05 p.m. on Saturday. It's a College Night, presented by The Other Place Restaurants, and the first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a 2019/20 Black Hawks poster schedule.
