PLYMOUTH, Mich. - USA Hockey's National Team Development Program will partner with the Autism Alliance of Michigan and Hines Park Lincoln to host its second annual sensory-friendly game at USA Hockey Arena on Sunday, Oct. 20. Puck drop is slated for 4:00 p.m. when the U.S. National Under-18 Team squares off against the USHL's Madison Capitols.

"We are extremely excited to bring back the sensory-friendly game this year after a great initial reaction from the event last season," said Scott Monaghan, senior director of operations for the NTDP. "At USA Hockey, we strongly believe that hockey is for everyone. With this promotion, we are able to welcome an even larger group of fans to USA Hockey Arena, including some who have maybe never had the opportunity to see us before due to the environment of live entertainment."

Fans attending the game can expect limited sounds and videos throughout the arena, a general admission seating section for maximum comfortability, available quiet rooms throughout the arena and a modified concessions menu featuring gluten-free pizza and other healthier options. In addition, the game will feature a Halloween fun zone, themed giveaways and a costume contest.

"Autism Alliance of Michigan is excited to partner again with USA Hockey for a sensory-friendly hockey game," said Tammy Morris, chief program officer for the AAoM. "USA Hockey is turning down the noise and lights and accommodating those with special needs as well as community partners. We look forward to another awesome hockey game where we can leave the startle reflexes at home. Go Team USA!"

"Hines Park Lincoln is proud to team up with USA Hockey's National Team Development Program and the Autism Alliance of Michigan to present this year's sensory-friendly game," said Ryan Kolb, Hines Park Lincoln dealership general manager. "As it is our mission to provide personalized service and selection at the dealership, we are happy to be able to extend the same traits to USA Hockey Arena to make this game affordable and inclusive for everybody."

While this family-fun game was created especially for our fans with sensory needs, everyone is welcomed to attend. Tickets for this game can be purchased by visiting USAHockeyArena.com/SensoryFriendlyDay or by calling the USA Hockey Arena box office at 734-453-8400.
