MUSKEGON, MI - After tallying five goals and two assists in two games this weekend, the USHL has tabbed Muskegon forward Oliver MacDonald as their forward of the week.

MacDonald, who was named team captain before the season, scored four goals in Friday's 8-1 win over Team USA U17, becoming the first Lumberjack since Charlie Gerard in 2016 to score four times in a single game.

MacDonald then potted his league-leading seventh goal of the season in Saturday's 7-4 victory, adding two assists to his ledger as well.

"Honestly, I got a lot of puck luck and things went my way," said MacDonald about Friday's four-goal game. "I was lucky to play with guys like Danil Gushchin who gave me some beautiful passes. We work well together- we played tough, we played simple. We stuck to the game plan and that's why we were successful."

MacDonald scored eight goals in 53 games last year, and through just six games this year has nearly matched that.

While MacDonald registered eight multi-point games last season, this weekend's four-point (4-0-4) and three-point (1-2-3) nights marked the first time in his USHL career he registered more than two points in a single game.

The Jacks next take the ice Friday in Chicago before returning to LC Walker Arena for a home game on Saturday, October 19. Muskegon will wear special jerseys that honor the city's 150th anniversary, and the game-worn sweaters will be auctioned after the game.
