Week Nine in Review The Huntsville Havoc dropped two of three games this past weekend winning at home on Thursday night against the Jacksonville Barracudas before dropping back-to-back games to the Columbus Cottonmouths on Friday and Sunday.
Thursday, December 22 - Jacksonville 2, Huntsville 3 HUNTSVILLE, AL - Chris Peach scored with 2:01 left in the third period breaking a 2-2 tie and lifting the Huntsville Havoc to a 3-2 win over the Jacksonville Barracudas Thursday night in front of 2,331 fans. The Barracudas took a 1-0 lead at the 5:07 mark of the second period when Chad Peck scored. Jesse Baraniuk scored his first professional goal with 8:38 left in the second period to tie the game. Peck added a short-handed goal to open the scoring in the third period. James Patterson answered with a short-handed goal of his own with 7:53 left in the game before Peach scored the game winner. Matt Carmichael made 20 saves to get his 11th win of the season. Pat Berrigan made 28 in the loss. Both teams when scoreless on the power play, Huntsville with four chances, Jacksonville with three.
Friday, December 23 - Columbus 5, Huntsville 2 HUNTSVILLE, AL - The Columbus Cottonmouths scored five goals in the third period on their way to a 5-2 win over the Huntsville Havoc Friday night. Both teams were scoreless after two periods before Craig Stahl, Tim Green, Ryan Haggarty, Ryan Rutz and Daryl Moor all scored in the third period. Mike Degurse and James Patterson both scored goals for the Havoc in the third period as well. Nick Niedert took the loss in place of the suspended Matt Carmichael. He made 28 saves. Chad Rycroft got the win stopping 33 shots.
Sunday, December 25 - Huntsville 2, Columbus 3 SO COLUMBUS, GA - The Huntsville Havoc blew a 2-0 lead and fell to the Columbus Cottonmouhts 3-2 in a shootout Christmas Night in Columbus. It was just the second win in seven games for Columbus against Huntsville. The Havoc took the 2-0 on goals by Don Patrick and Bill Monkman. Columbus rallied on goals by Tim Green and Lorne Misita. Green added the game-winner in the shootout. Matt Carmichael stopped 42 shots in the loss.

On the Air The John Gibson radio show will be set for tonight at Wings on Balmoral Drive in Huntsville. It will be a special 30 minute edition from 6 pm to 6:30 pm due to University of Alabama Basketball. Join Havoc head coach John Gibson, radio broadcaster Denis J. Puska and Thom Abraham on the Ump as they review the year that was for the Havoc.

The Havoc entertain the Pee Dee Cyclones tomorrow (Wednesday) night at the Von Braun Center at 7pm. The broadcast begins with Havoc Game Night at 6:45 pm. Huntsville Havoc hockey follows at 7 pm with Denis J. Puska bringing you the heartstopping action.
Then the Havoc head out on a two game road trip to Florida. On Friday night the Havoc make its first trip ever to Central Florida and the greater Orlando area to face the Florida Seals. Broadcast coverage begins with Havoc Game Night at 6:15 pm with the face-off to follow at 6:30 pm from the Silver Spurs Arena. The Havoc will ring in the new year on Saturday night at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena whey they face the Barracudas. The coverage begins 15 minutes before the puck is dropped at 5:45 pm with the pre-game show and the broadcast to follow at 6pm.
