
Green rewarded, Bechard suspended

Columbus, GA - Columbus Forward Tim Green was named Sher-wood Hockey SPHL player of the week. Green had four goals and four assists this week and had the game winner in a shootout vs. the Huntsville Havoc on Christmas day. Green is ranked 2nd in the SPHL in scoring with 35 points.
Coach Jerome Bechard has made the ink this week for a different reason. Due to his actions early in the second period on Christmas day he will serve a three game suspension and pay an undisclosed fine imposed by the SPHL. Former Cottonmouths defenseman Mick Kempffer will direct from the bench this Thursday and Friday night.
The Snakes next home game will be this Thursday vs. the Fayetteville Fire Antz. Friday night they host the Jacksonville Barracudas. Game times are 7:30 gate opens at 6:30.
