Havoc See Lead Slip Away in 4-1 Loss

HUNTSVILLE, AL- The Havoc score the game's first goal but, see the lead slip away in a 4-1 loss to the Pensacola Ice Flyers Sunday at the Von Braun Center.

Huntsville kicked off the scoring for the fourth time this season against Pensacola with a power play goal in the first. Michael Piluso chipped the puck in deep forcing the goaltender to come out and play the puck. An errant clearing attempt went right to Lou Educate; who jammed it into the open net for his 20th of the season at 11:31 of the first.

But the one-goal lead was short-lived for the Havoc as Pensacola grabbed their first of the evening at 14:11 of the opening frame.

In the second, the Ice Flyers added pressure and saw their first and only lead of the night at 10:25.

Huntsville tried clawing back with a few chances on the other side of the ice, but Scott Fellnermayr missed just inches away, hitting the cross-bar, in the late stages of the second.

In the third, Pensacola scooped up an interception in the Havoc zone and scored their third of the night just over three minutes into the frame. The Ice Flyers' fourth and final goal of the night came just under two minutes left in regulation with an empty net in the Havoc zone.

Memorable Moments Huntsville has power play goals in three straight games at home. The Havoc also have first period goals in five of their last six games.

The Havoc have now killed off 23 of 25 shorthanded breaks against the Pensacola Ice Flyers this season.

Tonight's action marks the fourth time in the last seven that Huntsville killed off 100% of their penalties on the night.

Tonight, marked the third straight game the two teams played in a tie game going to the second period. Huntsville has seen a 1-1 game after one in three of their last six overall.

Huntsville registered 19 shots in the third period tonight and have now tallied 15 or more in a frame eleven times in their last eight games. Meanwhile, the Havoc held the Ice Flyers to five shots in the final frame of regulation. Huntsville has given up six or less shots in a period in five of their last six games.

Lou Educate now has points in five of his last six with goals in two straight. The Libertyville, IL native now leads the team with 20 goals on the season.

Next Game Huntsville will return home to take on the Columbus Cottonmouths for the final time this season Friday, February 24th for Guns and Hoses Night. Both teams will don special police and firefighter themed jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game. Proceeds will go to select local police and firefighter organizations.
