
Havoc Score on Power Play in Overtime for The Win

ROANOKE, VA- The Havoc beat the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs in overtime by a final of 3-2. Huntsville is now riding a three-game winning streak and wraps up the weekend outscoring their opponent 6-2.
After a scoreless first period the Rail Yard Dawgs kicked the scoring off in the second with a goal seven minutes into the middle frame. But the Havoc came back with a goal of their own 1:41 seconds later with Tyler French's first of the year. The game-tying goal was assisted by John Lidgett. But :23 later Roanoke regained their one goal lead with Tyler Gjurich second of the game to take the 2-1 lead into the third.
In the final frame of regulation, Huntsville with a shot off an offensive face-off draw Nolan Huysmans poked the puck through the five hole of Ryan de Melo to tie the game at two and send it to overtime.
"Playing with good players out on my wings and they just get out there in position for the puck," said Sy Nutkevitch who registered an assist on Huysmans goal.
During the extra frame with the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs on their heels the Havoc added pressure and forced a power play opportunity; the team's second of the game.
"I missed on one early on and I saw the Rail Yard Dawgs were sitting back so I had time to walk in and make a few passes," said Nutkevitch.
On the four-on-three man advantage chance, the Havoc collapsing in toward the Dawgs net, a pass from Sy Nutkevitch over to Dylan Nowakowski who one timed it in the back of the net for the overtime goal and the 3-2 win.
"It was a good pass by Sy and I thought to shoot but second guessed so I gave it back to Sy and once I got it back I knew I had a lane to shoot it again and took it," said Nowakowski.
Honorable Mentions
With goals by Tyler French and Nolan Huysmans, the Havoc now have 12 different scorers on the team.
Sy Nutkevitch now has multiple assists in each of last three and points in five of first six on the year.
With the win, Huntsville has their first three-game winning streak of the year and now have wins in three of four on the road.
The Havoc have power play goals in five of the first six and are 8-27 on the man-advantage. The offensive powerhouse has goals in 17 of 18 periods to start the year and are now outscoring their opponent in all three periods. The biggest marginal different is in the second period where Huntsville is registering a +6.
Tonight's game marked the first this year decided by a goal for the Havoc.
