HUNTSVILLE, AL - The Huntsville Havoc took all three games during week 12 including a road win in Knoxville for the first time in three years and swept a home and road series with then league leading Pensacola.

Friday, January 17 - Huntsville 3, Knoxville 2 - OT

KNOXVILLE, TN - Nick Lazorko gave the Huntsville Havoc a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Knoxville Ice Bears when he scored 4:52 into the extra period.

Huntsville nearly gave up a two-score lead. The Havoc made it 2-0 on a goal by Dominic Osman at 17:39 in the first period. Knoxville got to within 2-1 on a power play goal by Francis Drolet at 11:53 in the third period.

Huntsville was sparked by Lazorko, who finished with one goal.

By firing 39 shots on goal, the Havoc exceeded the 25.2 shots they average per game this year.

Huntsville also got points from Osman, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Huntsville also got a goal from Scott Harff as well. In addition, Huntsville received assists from Eric Alexander, who had two and Leland Fidler and Brandon Perry, who contributed one a piece.

The Ice Bears put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Huntsville to score on any of its three power plays.

Eric Satim also scored for Knoxville. Other players who recorded assists for Knoxville were Jeremy Klaver, Mark Van Vliet, and Ben Power, who each chipped in one.

Kevin Genoe recorded 24 saves for the Havoc. Huntsville ended with 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major. Knoxville's Bryan Hince stopped 36 shots out of the 39 that he faced. The Ice Bears totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-5 on the power play.

Saturday, January 18 - Huntsville 5, Pensacola 3

PENSACOLA, FL - Nick Lazorko gave the Huntsville Havoc the lead in the first period, and the Pensacola Ice Flyers was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 5-3.

Lazorko provided Huntsville with the game-winning tally when he scored 8:52 into the the first period. Josh Harris assisted on the tally.

The Havoc got the win with help from a great game by Stuart Stefan, who had two goals and two assists. Stefan scored the first of his two goals at 13:45 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Huntsville. Lazorko picked up the assist. Stefan's next tally made the score 5-3 Huntsville with two seconds left in the third period.

Huntsville put 32 shots on net during the contest, more than the 25.4 it averages per game.

Huntsville additionally got points from Lazorko, who also registered two goals and one assist. Ray Ortiz also scored for Huntsville. In addition, Huntsville received assists from Mike Gurtler, who had one.

Pensacola stifled the Havoc's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Ice Flyers relied on a core group of players for most of their offense, as Joshua Turnbull, Joe Caveney and Ryan Salvis took 23 of the team's 45 shots.

Pensacola was led by John Dunbar, who had one goal and one assist. Dunbar scored 7:34 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Huntsville. Shaun Arvai assisted on the tally. Pensacola also got a goal from Brett Lutes as well. More assists for Pensacola came via Malcolm Lyles, who had one.

Jesse Kallechy rejected 42 shots on goal for Huntsville. The Havoc totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 0-for-3 on the power play. Peter Di Salvo recorded 27 saves for the Ice Flyers. Pensacola totaled 33 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 2-for-4 on the power play.

Sunday, January 19 - Pensacola 0, Huntsville 3

HUNTSVILLE, AL - The Huntsville Havoc used a sparkling performance by Jesse Kallechy to take down the Pensacola Ice Flyers, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Huntsville's 3-0 shutout victory.

The Havoc were paced by Eric Alexander, who registered one goal. Alexander scored 10:50 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Huntsville. Leland Fidler provided the assist.

Huntsville stifled Pensacola's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Havoc's defense was surprisingly good. Huntsville gives up 3.0 goals on average per game. The Havoc put 33 shots on net during the contest, more than the 26.7 they average per game.

Huntsville also got points from Josh Harris, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Huntsville also got a goal from Mike Gurtler as well. More assists for Huntsville came via Stuart Stefan, Sam Cannata, Brandon Perry, and Nick Lazorko, who contributed one a piece.

The Ice Flyers did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Pensacola averages 3.3 goals per game.

The Ice Flyers were led by Steve Bergin, who took five shots.

Kallechy recorded 25 saves for Huntsville. The Havoc incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Pensacola's Peter Di Salvo stopped 30 shots out of the 33 that he faced. The Ice Flyers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
