
Havoc Drop Two To Peoria

HUNTSVILLE, AL - The Huntsville Havoc dropped back-to-back one goal games to Peoria losing 3-2 on Friday night and 2-1 on Saturday night. The Havoc have now lost 11 games in a row but eight of those 11 have been by just one goal.
Friday, December 19 - Peoria 3, Huntsville 2
HUNTSVILLE, AL - The Huntsville Havoc outshot the Peoria Rivermen 34-30 but it wasn't enough as they fell 3-2 at home.
Drew Akins and Jordan Foreman both netted goals for the Havoc while Stuart Stefan, Ray Ortiz, Jarred Mohr and Jacob Johnstone all had one assist each.
Gabriel Levesque, Alec Hagaman and Tyler Amburgey all scored for Peoria.
Kyle Rank made 32 saves in the win while Kevin Genoe made 27 in the loss.
Saturday, December 20 - Peoria 2, Huntsville 1
HUNTSVILLE, AL - The Peoria Rivermen survived a determined comeback attempt by the Huntsville Havoc on the way to a 2-1 win.
Peoria made the score 2-0 on a goal by Jordan Sims at 7:09 in the third period, and Huntsville got as close as 2-1 when Dane Erickson scored 12:01 into the third period.
The Rivermen were led by goalie Kyle Rank, who finished with 28 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Rank will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.48.
The 27 shots that Peoria put on net surpassed the Rivermen's average of 24.3 shots per game this season.
Peoria also got a goal from Matt Summers as well. More assists for Peoria came via Josh Harris, Nick Schneider, and Jake Trask, who each chipped in one.
The Havoc's offense was clicking better than usual and put 29 shots on goal during the game, better than the 24.9 shots per game they average.
Other players who recorded assists for Huntsville were Jarred Mohr and Jordan Foreman, who contributed one each.
Peoria totaled 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors and two majors and went 1-for-2 on the power play. Jesse Kallechy recorded 25 saves for Huntsville. The Havoc totaled 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors and two majors and went 1-for-3 on the power play.
