
Havoc Defends Home Ice, Win Pair

The Huntsville Havoc defended home ice and scored 17 goals in two games with a 10-4 win over the Jacksonville Barracudas on Thursday night and a 7-3 win over the Pee Dee Cyclones on Saturday night.
Thursday, February 2 - Jacksonville 4, Huntsville 10 HUNTSVILLE, AL - Luke Phillips scored his second professional hat trick as the Huntsville Havoc cruised to a 10-4 win over the Jacksonville Barracudas. Steve Hynes scored two goals while Jesse Baraniuk, Bill Monkman, Sean Edwards, Don Patrick and Craig Bushey all added one each. James Patterson had three assists, while Ryan Brown, Edwards and Jeff Dams had two each. Jason deGuehery, Monkman, Hynes, Chris Peach, Mark Cole, Doug Merrell and Jomar Cruz all had one assist. The Havoc outshot the Barracudas 43-24 and were 2-of-2 on the power play. Jacksonville was 2-of-5 on the power play.
Saturday, February 4 - Pee Dee 3, Huntsville 7 HUNTSVILLE, AL - The Huntsville Havoc jumped out to a 4-0 lead and never looked back in a 7-3 win over the Pee Dee Cyclones Saturday night in front of 5,098 fans. Chris Peach scored just 4:40 into the game to give the Havoc a 1-0 lead. Bill Monkman added a power play goal at 6:53 and Jeff Dams scored less than two minutes later to go 3-0. James Patterson scored with :41 left in the fist period to give the Havoc 4-0 at the break. Joel Petkoff cut the lead to 4-1 just 1:41 into the second period. Craig Bushey scored his first of two goals three minutes later to put the score back up to 5-1. Brad Wanchulak and Jeff Kyte both scored to cut the Havoc lead to 5-3. Bushey scored with 4:56 left in the second to give the Havoc a 6-3 lead at the second intermission. Monkman added a third period power play goal to finish the scoring. Peach led the Havoc with three assists and Steve Hynes had two. Ryan Brown, Jason deGuehery, Monkman, Jonathan Lounsbury, Patterson, and Bushey all had one. Nick Niedert stopped stopped 21 shots in the win. The Havoc were 4-of-10 on the power play while Pee Dee was 1-of-5.
