Cyclones Return Home This Weekend

The Circus is gone, the ice is going back in, and the Pee Dee Cyclones will finally return to the Florence Civic Center this Friday (February 10th) and Saturday (February 11th). The Cyclones will begin the week in Jacksonville on Thursday night where they'll play an important game with playoff implications. Pee Dee begins the week in sixth place in the SPHL with a record of 12-21-4 for 28 points. Jacksonville is in bottom place with a record of 11-25-2 for 24 points. The top six teams qualify for the SPHL playoffs which begin in mid-March.

Friday night's home game marks the beginning of the Cyclones new $7.00 General Admission ticket for Friday & Saturday games and $5.00 General Admission ticket for Tuesday & Thursday games.

Upcoming games & promotions:

Thursday, February 9th @ Jacksonville Barracudas (7:05PM). Sixth meeting of the year against the Barracudas. The Cyclones are 2-1-2 against Jacksonville this season. Follow the action at www.pointstreak.com .

Friday, February 10th vs. Huntsville Havoc (7:35PM @ Florence Civic Center). The first of eight home games this month at the FCC. This is the sixth meeting of the year against the Havoc. Pee Dee leads the season series 3 games to 2. Promotion: "NASCAR Night" sponsored by the Darlington Race Track. The game will feature the return of the annual "Weiner Dog Races" and our "Chuck a Puck" winner will win tickets to the Darlington Race in May.

Saturday, February 11th vs. Fayetteville Fire Antz (7:35PM @ Florence Civic Center). This will be the tenth meeting of the year with Fayetteville. The Fire Antz have won eight games in "The Press Box I-95 Challenge Cup" series. Promotion: "Health Awareness Night" with health related informational booths set-up on the main concourse throughout the game.

Cyclones New Ticket Prices Begin This Month Beginning with the Cyclones home games on Friday, February 10th and Saturday, February 11th the team will introduce some new, lower ticket prices for the remainder of the 2005-06 hockey season: - A new $7.00 General Admission ticket available for all Friday & Saturday home games. - A new $5.00 General Admission ticket available for all Tuesday & Thursday home games. - A $5.00 Student or Military ticket for all homes games by showing the appropriate ID. - Children 3 & under will be admitted FREE (as long as they can sit on their parent's lap).

Cyclones Player Notes:

Forward Edan Welch continues to lead the team in scoring with 25 goals-20 assists-45 points in 37 games. Welch also leads the team in goals scored with 25. Injured forward Trevor Karasiewicz leads the team in assists with 22. Forward Chris Murphy leads the ‘Clones in penalty minutes with 163 minutes in 35 games.

Goaltender Kelly Shields played in his first game in last Saturday's 7-3 loss in Huntsville. A native of Victoria, British Columbia, Shields played last season for Jacksonville (SPHL), Fresno, Victoria, and Bakersfield (ECHL), and Fort Wayne (UHL).

Forward Justin Siebold served the first game of his three game suspension last Saturday night in Huntsville. Siebold can return to action on Saturday night, February 11th vs. Fayetteville.

Forward Trevor Karasiewicz remains on the SPHL injured reserve list with a lower body injury.

The Cyclones have used 44 players this season which includes six goaltenders.

Cyclones Appearances: Join Cyclones Head Coach Mark Richards, new Owner Bob Kerzner, and selected players every Tuesday night at 7:30PM at the Phoenix Bar & Grill in the Thunderbird Hotel on Highway 52 and I-95 for the Cyclones Radio Show on 100.1 FM "The Fan" as a part of the weekly "Press Box PM" radio program with host Emerson "E-Daddy" Phillips.
