HUNTSVILLE, AL – Huntsville Havoc head coach, John Gibson, announced today that the team has added four more players to the 2004-05 training camp roster.

The signees include 2003-04 Huntsville Channel Cat defenseman, Greg Snitowsky, rookies Chris Berns and Nick Field as well as local goalie, Chad Mortensen.

Snitowsky (6-0, 200, Defense) played in 17 games for the Channel Cats last season after playing in 30 for the Winston-Salem T-Birds. He finished the season with 10 goals, seven assists and 198 penalty minutes. He also added two assists and five penalty minutes in three playoff games. He played in 44 games for the Springfield Spirit of the NAHL in 2002-03 and scored two goals and had two assists for a total of four points. He also had 191 penalty minutes. He is originally from Frankfort, Illinois.

"I am real pleased that Greg wants to return to Huntsville," Gibson said. "He was a great addition to our lineup when we picked him up last season and I am looking forward to some great things from him this season."

Berns (6-4, 190, Defense) played in 187 games in five seasons in junior hockey with the Saunich Braves and Livingstone Rockmen from 1998-2003. He scored 76 goals and had 168 assists. He also had 495 penalty minutes. He is originally from Claresholm, Alberta.

"I am looking for Chris to add some size and physical presence on the defensive end for us," Gibson said. "By looking at his junior stats it shows that he can chip in offensively, making him an all-around player."

Field (5-10, 180, Center) played at Ferris State University from 199-2003, where the Bulldogs were the 200203 CCHA Champions and reached the NCAA Final 8. He played in 61 games and scored six goals and had five assists. He also played juniors for the Cleveland Barons in 1997-98 and Des Moines Buccaneers in 1998-99. He scored 52 goals and had 56 assists during those two seasons. He is originally from Jackson, Michigan.

"We were very happy that Nick chose Huntsville to start his minor pro career," Gibson said. "He should be able to fill in some holes at center and I am looking for him to contribute offensively in a big way."

Mortensen (6-0, 190, Goalie) attended Sparkman High School and came to camp with the Channel Cats last season. He served as the emergency goalie during the 2003-04 season. He is originally from Huntsville.

"It was a great relief last season to know that we had a quality reserve goalie like Chad," Gibson said. "I look for him to come in this season and compete hard for the number two spot."

Coach Gibson is also in contract negotiations with forward, James Patterson, and goalie, Matt Carmichael. Both were selected SEHL All-Stars last seaosn. Patterson was selected SEHL MVP and Carmichael was Goalie of the Year and MVP of the playoffs.

"I feel that these are two instrumental players from last season," Gibson said. "I am focusing a lot of time making sure that both are wearing Havoc jerseys this season."
