The 6-4, 231-pound forward has collected one goal in eight games with Hartford, after being acquired by the Rangers from Carolina on November 21, in exchange for the rights to Jakub Petruzalek and a conditional fifth round pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

In 25 games with the Wolf Pack, he has registered 19 goals and eight assists for 27 points, along with a plus-six rating and 32 penalty minutes. Montoya, 21, has posted a 2-9-0 record, along with a 3.07 goals against average and an .892 save percentage in 14 games with Hartford (AHL) this season. The 2006 AHL All-Star served as a back up to Rangers' goaltender Kevin Weekes last night vs. the Islanders after he was recalled earlier in the day from Hartford on an emergency basis.

From today's practice, Michael Nylander (flu) did not participate and will not travel with the team to Florida. Marek Malik (groin strain) skated briefly before practice and remains out day-to-day.
