October 26, 2010 - United Football League (UFL 1)
Hartford Colonials News Release
The United Football League has named Hartford Colonials defensive end Derek Walker as the UFL Defensive Player of Week 6.
Walker set a UFL record by returning a fumble 83 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter of Hartford's 24-21 overtime loss to the Las Vegas Locomotives. He also broke up a pass.
The Colonials signed Walker in September after he spent 2010 NFL training camp with the San Francisco 49ers. He was a member of the Seattle Seahawks practice squad last year. Prior to that Walker was with the Washington Redskins, who signed him as an undrafted free agent out of Illinois in April 2009.
The Colonials travel to Sacramento to play the Mountain Lions on Saturday, Oct. 30, at 11 pm. The game will be televised on the Versus Network and heard on ESPN Radio 1410/WPOP-AM.
Tickets are on sale for Hartford's final home game Nov. 20 against Las Vegas at Rentschler Field. Game time is 3:30 pm. To purchase tickets, call 860-913-2300 or go to www.hartfordcolonials.com.
